Description
Francisco Ramon de Murrieta (the founding Father of this historic estate) was a true leading light of the Spanish wine industry. His was one of the first Rioja Houses to be established - as far back as 1852 - but his attention to detail was what truly set him apart. Adopting French wine making techniques and adopting a 'single estate only' approach he created wines of great stature and complexity.
Tasting notes
Absolutely classic Rioja - as Marques de Murrieta has always been renowned for. Delicate tannins with berry, cherry, plum and hints of liquorice ensure the wine is both approachable and satisfying. Food pairing recommendations from the wine maker include duck, scallops or sea bass. Take your pick....
