Perrier Jouet Belle Epoque Champagne 2013, 75 cl

£229.99

Belle Epoque is an undoubtedly beautiful bottle. The liquid inside most certainly doesn't disappoint either. Light gold in colour the bubbles are exceptionally fine. The light, floral and light citrus nose is at once delicate and distinctive with similar flavours dominating the palate such as peaches and pears. The 2011 harvest produced particularly fresh grapes thank to a very mild Winter and exceptional Spring. A blend of classic Champagne grape varieties- 50% Chardonnay, 45% Pinot Noir and 5% Meunier

Description

The Champagne House of Perrier Jouet was founded in 1811. Since that time there have only been 7 Cellar Masters with the current Master, Herve Deschanps, taking over and remaining in charge since 1993. The Champagnes have been renowned for their light and floral nature. And that should come as little surprise when you realise that they own many of the best vineyards in the Chardonnay driven areas of legendary Cramant, Avize and Ay.
