Lying as it does on the West Coast of Islay, Port Askaig hails from one of the most majestic (in this writer’s opinion) parts of Scotland. That said you won’t find a distillery there. Rather Port Askaig’s whiskies are made from stocks purchased elsewhere on this hallowed island and therein lies quite a debate as to who precisely is supplying the stock! I wouldn’t let that concern you too much, each of their range does a tremendous job of representing Islay – that said perhaps you’d like to have a guess whilst tasting……
