Description
Wine making around Castellina, where Villa Trasqua's vineyards lie, can be traced as far back as 1,000 (yes you did read that correctly) at a time when Benedictine Monks will have created the wines of the time to serve for both themselves and guests staying at their Monastery. The ground is hard and stony and the are itself has a unique cool microclimate - perfect for vine growing and creating delicious wines.
Tasting notes
Lively red in colour with perhaps a hint of violet. This red wine is well structured with a variety of flavours including berries, liquorice and light spices. Terrific with pasta with meat sauces!
