Bacchus is English Wine's Sauvignon Blanc in many ways. Crisply dry with refreshing fruity flavours and with delicious depth too and it now offers even better value for money following the price increases from New Zealand over the last couple of years.

Description

The recent rise of English Wine and Spirits is well documented and Chapel Down have been at the forefront of this from the start. Their cellars in Tenterden and distillery in London are a joy to visit. Furthermore it’s their attention to detail, creativity and superb presentation that has inspired the likes of The Royal Opera House and Ascot to serve their products. Recommended? Absolutely.

Tasting notes

Chapel Down's Bacchus is a crisply dry white wine with lovely fruit and floral flavours intertwined with refreshing citrus notes. It is clear here that English Wine making has come a very long way in the last decade with quality improving in leaps and bounds. This is undoubtedly the UK's wine answer to Sauvignon Blanc if you would like a comparison and haven't heard of Bacchus before (you won't be alone!).
